Issuance of sick leave
At Alenas Dent Dental Clinic, we understand that some dental procedures require time for full recovery. To ensure your peace of mind and comfort after more complex procedures, our clinic has the right and practice to issue a sick leave certificate for temporary incapacity for work .
For which procedures can I get a sick leave?
A sick leave is issued at the discretion of the attending dentist when your health condition does not allow you to perform your work duties. The most common cases include:
Surgical removal of impacted (wisdom) or deeply decayed teeth.
Placement of dental implants.
Bone replacement interventions and sinus lift.
Surgical treatment of cysts, abscesses and severe inflammations.
Acute conditions associated with severe pain and swelling.
Important: For routine procedures such as preventive examinations, tartar removal, or placement of standard fillings, a sick leave certificate is not issued.
What is the issuance procedure?
The process with us is as easy as possible and completely digitalized:
Let us know in time: Please inform your treating physician or the reception on the day of the procedure that you will need a sick leave.
Required documents: The only thing you need to provide is your ID card.
Electronic document: The sick leave is issued electronically. We send it directly to the National Social Security Institute (NSI), and your employer receives an automatic notification. There is no need to carry paper copies to your office.
Important terms you need to know:
Insurance status: In order to be paid compensation from the National Social Security Institute, you must be under an employment contract and have continuous insurance rights for general illness and maternity.
No retroactive effect: According to Bulgarian law, a sick leave for dental treatment is issued on the day the incapacity for work is established. Its issuance retroactively is strictly regulated and in most cases inadmissible.
Duration: The number of days is determined individually according to the severity of the intervention and the time needed for your recovery (most often between 1 and 3 days for standard surgery).
